Nominations open for Spirit and Dedication Award
Nominate a Beckman staff member for the Spirit and Dedication Award.
The recipient, along with the Beckman faculty Vision and Spirit awardee, will be publicly announced and celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the Beckman Auditorium before the Beckman-Brown Lecture.
Beckman staff eligibility:
Staff whose home unit is the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology,
Staff who embody Beckman’s mission, vision and core values: Excellence, collaboration, integrity, transdisciplinarity, exploration and diversity,
Staff who have demonstrated teamwork and dedication to advancing the unit’s mission.
The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026.
Recognizing dedicated Beckman staff members
Those who receive the award will earn a $1,500 one-time cash award, after taxes, awarded through payroll and a commemorative Arnold Beckman bust. They will be the Beckman Institute's nominee for the Chancellor's Staff Excellence Award.
The Beckman Institute recognizes the Staff Spirit and Dedication awardees and faculty Vision and Spirit Award winners at the same time.
Nominations are open each fall. Previous winners consider nominees and make a recommendation to Beckman's director.
