Daniel Miller, an assistant professor of evolution, ecology, and behavior, accepted a part-time faculty appointment at the Beckman Institute. He will be a member of the Neurotechnology for Memory and Cognition Group in the Intelligent Systems research theme.

Miller's research leverages bleeding-edge computational methods to map brain anatomy from the level of single-cell genomics and deep learning morphometry to macroscale tractography.

Using ultrahigh field 7 T and 9.4 T magnetic resonance imaging, Miller aims to understand the fundamental organization of the cerebral cortex as a laminated structure of the brain in order to develop the next generation of therapeutic techniques for improving detection and treatment of neurological disease.
