The Janssen Family Undergraduate Research Fund supports the Janssen Family Undergraduate Research Award, which provides support for a summer research experience for an undergraduate student working at the Beckman Institute. Preference is given to women students with an interest in psychology and/or neuroscience.
The award reflects the interests of John and Ida Mae Janssen and their four children, three of whom graduated from the University of Illinois. Their interest in the Beckman Institute began when their daughter, Alisha, worked there during her time as an undergraduate. Her work at the Institute led her to pursue a doctoral degree in neuroscience at another institution.
Through this award, the Janssens hope to have an impact both on the undergraduate student recipient and on the fields of psychology and neuroscience.
Your Gift will Impact Future Generations. With your support, the Fund will help us transform the lives of young scientists – fueling scientific discovery and innovation – for years to come. Your support will help us recruit and support top-flight students who will become the leaders of tomorrow. Please give generously to help the fields of neuroscience and pyschology grow, prosper and tackle the many challenges we face as a global community.
