To best align with the university's Sponsored Programs Administration proposal policy, the Beckman Institute's proposal policy has two main components:

Proposal Intake Form

Forms received less than eight full business days before the sponsor deadline will not be accepted. The timely submission of the form allows our staff to plan as it is normal to have several proposals due at or around the same time. The longer the lead time, the better our staff members can manage their workload and provide the best review.

Submission to SPA

All final documents are due to our office three full business days prior to the SPA deadline, or seven full days prior to the sponsor deadline. This extra time will ensure that our staff members can complete all their work to meet the SPA deadline.

If all final documents are not received 7 full business days before the sponsor’s deadline, the proposal will not be submitted to SPA.

Exceptions to this policy will be rare and will require extreme circumstances to be reviewed by the Beckman director. Additional campus approvals will be required, as well.
