Hua LiHua Li, a research associate professor of bioengineering at the University of Illinois, accepted an affiliate faculty member appointment at the Beckman Institute. Li will be a member of the Computational Imaging Group housed in the Integrative Imaging research theme. Li is also a board-certified medical physicist in the Carle Cancer Center, an affiliate associate professor in the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, and an affiliate associate professor in the Cancer Center at Illinois.
Li's research focuses on developing state-of-the-art machine learning and biomedical image analysis techniques that address important patient care needs. Li's three key topics of interest are: deep learning for clinical decision making; medical image analysis for clinical applications; and medical image quality assessment based on clinical tasks.
"I am well-positioned and looking forward to building interdisciplinary collaborations that involve Beckman colleagues and clinicians at the Carle Foundation Hospital to address impactful clinical problems," Li said.
