Jaena Park, a doctoral candidate in Professor Stephen Boppart’s Biophotonics Imaging Lab, was awarded a prestigious Graduate Student Scholarship for Biomedical Sciences from the ASAN Foundation in Korea. This $35,000 scholarship, which is renewable for up to three years, covers tuition, and living and academic experiences beginning in fall 2019.
In the last 40 years, the ASAN Foundation has awarded 546 of these scholarships worldwide.
Park, who earned her M.S. degree from Korea University, is investigating extracellular vesicles using SLAM-optical microscopy in Boppart’s group.
