Beckman Institute researcher Gabriele Gratton was elected President of the Society for Psychophysiological Research at the organization’s meeting earlier this month in Austin, Texas.

Gratton replaces his Monica Fabiani, his Beckman colleague and his co-director at the Institute’s Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory (CNL), as SPR President.

In addition, Kara Federmeier of the Beckman Institute was elected to the Society’s board of directors. 

There were also honors for students from Illinois entered in the SPR meeting’s poster session, including Eddie Wlotko and Charlene Lee from Federmeier’s lab at Beckman, CNL lab member Kyle Mathewson and former lab member Erika Henry, as well as Anna Engels from Beckman faculty member Greg Miller’s lab. Wlotko was also awarded a $5,000 research award.

The Society for Psychophysiological Research is an international scientific society with worldwide membership. The purpose of the Society is to foster research on the interrelationships between the physiological and psychological aspects of behavior.
