SCHULTEN NAMED FELLOW OF THE BIOPHYSICAL SOCIETY
Congratulations to Klaus Schulten, leader of the Theoretical and Computational Biophysics group, who has been chosen as a Fellow of the Biophysical Society. Schulten was chosen for his groundbreaking effort to develop computational molecular biology as an important tool to solve problems in biophysics.
BARBEY JOINS BECKMAN INSTITUTE
Aron K. Barbey has joined the Beckman Institute as a member of the Cognitive Neuroscience group. Barbey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science and the Neuroscience Program at the University of Illinois.
FEDERAL FUNDING AGENCY WEBINAR
The OVCR’s office is hosting a “Webinar on Federal Research Priorities and Budgets for FY12.” The webinar will be held October 31-November 2. It is free and open to all faculty, staff, postdocs, and students in Room 1030, NCSA. You may also register to watch the webinar from your desktop for $75 (check) or $80 (credit card). ITS INTRODUCES NEW PRINTING SERVICE
Information Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to announce a new printing system available to Beckman Institute personnel. New multifunction printer/copiers have been deployed on each floor with the ability to print or copy in B&W and in color. Users can also scan documents to a variety of formats at no charge and email them to an address of the user’s choice. All printing and copying rates have been reduced to increased efficiencies of the new system.
