Beckman faculty papers among most accessed in nanotechnology

Papers by Beckman Institute faculty members earned the distinction of being included in the Most Accessed lists for the journal Nanotechnology.

Two papers from Beckman Institute faculty members, one by Joe Lyding and another by Jean-Pierre Leburton, Aleksei Aksimentiev, Klaus Schulten, and Gregory Timp earned the distinction of being included in the Most Accessed lists for the journal Nanotechnology

According to Alex Wotherspoon, publisher of the journal, the Most Accessed list contains “papers that best represent the high quality and breadth of the contributions that were published last year in Nanotechnology, as chosen by the Editorial Board and publishing team.”

Lyding’s paper was among the Most Accessed of 2008. It is titled Characterization of nanometer-sized, mechanically exfoliated graphene on the H-passivated Si(100) surface using scanning tunneling microscopy.

The paper by Leburton, Timp, Schulten, Aksimentiev, and collaborators Maria E. Gracheva and Anlin Xiong is Simulation of the electric response of DNA translocation through a semiconductor nanopore capacitor. It was published in Nanotechnology in 2006 was among the most highly downloaded articles in 2006. It was recognized in December of 2008 for having the high number of 1,288 downloads.  It is available at Nanotechnology in a PDF format.
