Nancy M. Amato, the Abel Bliss Professor of Engineering and the head of the Department of Computer Science, has been named an affiliate faculty member at the Beckman Institute. Amato will be a member of the Computational Molecular Science Group within the Molecular Science and Engineering research theme. Her main areas of research focus are motion planning and robotics, computational biology and geometry, and parallel and distributed computing.
