Professor Kim’s research is focused on two main areas of interest: therapeutic microcapsules and nanoparticles, and nanostructured materials and devices. His group has developed uniform biodegradable gelatin nanoparticles of controlled size to deliver therapeutics where desired. The gelatin nanoparticles also serve as a strong contrast agent for ultrasound imaging, allowing the development of new imaging modalities.
